The Story of Stuff
I realize this is a few months old, but for those of you who haven't seen it yet, The Story of Stuff is worth watching. It is a free 20 minute online video that connects the various aspects of all the stuff we consume, in a cute and simple way. Questions of environment, politics, social justice, health, and equity are raised. Although somewhat simplistic it is tightly presented, and I have to say I learned some new things. Plus there's more information on the site to follow up with. Check it out at www.storyofstuff.com

I enjoyed that. Very well done.
Wow, that says it all.
It isn't paranoid to recognize that corporations try to control society with consumption. If you reject consumerism you risk being labelled anti social. But reject we must. Yet it is undeniably difficult to exist in this country in a sustainable fashion (ie purchasing sustainably produced and organic products, producing you own, even having shelter in the winter and more) without the advantage of money in your pocket. What a conundrum.
And true change can't happen in a vacuum. We must change the collective mindset.
We need more marches! It's a big hill to climb but like anything journey it starts with the first step. Revolution is NOW.
Let's make Dr Suess's Lorax our mascot. Seriously.
Thank you for posting that. It is necessary sometimes to be reminded of the resonsiblity we share and to have it the truth validated.
